Business as Usual

Hi Everyone!
First off, my apologies for not writing for quite some time, it has been a busy couple of months. Also, forgive me for my last piece being a rather bleak AI composed self-reflection on the creative destructivity of it's own nature. I thought something of that sort might be an apt statement for our times, but let us not get lost in existentialism. Nor do I want to establish the use of AI in this blog as normalized; I had written one previous piece with it that I have since removed, for ethical reasons, and now the ONLY AI written piece you will find on this blog is the self-critical analysis on creative degradation (which I will leave up because it is, essentially, art).
Further, I wanted to express that this blog is for no particular purpose, but rather a generalist collection of pieces, some which may be directly linked to the business, some that may be less clearly relevant (although, if you analyze it deeply enough, there is usually at least one or two underlying threads that tie together). I want this blog to be heart centered, free-flowing, and authentic in true reflection of our founding values. No sugar-coating, misleading statements, veiled advertising or hooks. Just honest, raw, thoughts and creative endeavors.
That being said, some of these posts WILL quite clearly, and directly, be related to, or about, the business itself. So, how is business you ask? Could be better! Truth is, the hardest part of launching an e-commerce business (especially one in somewhat unconventional yet highly competitive areas of business) is gaining traction and visibility. Without endless money to pour at ads, to hire marketers, salespeople or social media managers, to develop better ways of generating site traffic, small businesses like this all too often fall by the wayside. And the fact is, we knew that going in. We expected to be near invisible, possibly even for years. Yet we forge ahead, because truth demands it. Vision must be accompanied with mission and steadfast resolve. Through these means we shall succeed. Or, at the least, fail nobly while trying.
I've always heard growing up, and still hear today in school courses as I finish up a later-life degree, that entrepreneurial adventures carry great risk and almost all fail. 50% within 5 years, 70% within 10 years. We've all heard the numbers. These are the big startups too, backed with capital investments, big dreams, big tech, big money. I'm curious if the same is true for the hobby business or smaller mom and pops; if the same stats hold up? Obviously potential revenue is much lower, but so are the associated startup costs, especially for small e-commerce operations. Of course, going bust is going bust, irrespective of size. Regardless, it is a challenge to be a small business owner, in any context. However, if you really believe in what you are trying to accomplish, how could you do anything else?
At the end of the day, for me, personally, it's not about being my own boss, setting my own hours, choosing how I work, etc., that makes me want to run this business. It's my sincere desire to give back, help drive real impact and positive change in organizations and people's lives, and to truly do something of service to humanity to which I feel truly called, not just obligated. Whether that's through a business roadmap evaluation, tarot and intuitive guidance, or MBTI-based strategic HR coaching, I am here to help create the dynamic and thriving business world of the future. Full of sustainable practices, healthy minds, and a cohesive, holistic, and truly ALIVE framework for the modern business world that takes into account all of its stakeholders.
